My Review:  Peter had never known his grandmother. Out of the blue Peter receives a letter from her, and she wants him to visit. Peter finds a quirky community of interesting townspeople, a long-lost treasure hunt coming to the forefront again, and many, many town secrets. When his grandmother dies before they have a chance to talk about those secrets, Peter is drawn into the web of treasure hunting. Will he make it out alive?

This book has more twists and turns than the twistiest road in the Colorado Mountains. The characters are quirky and interesting, and the ending…the ending…not one you will ever guess. I was blown away. Tom Ryan had me with his first words, kept me on edge and then totally blindsided me. This is a read you won’t forget.

Tom Ryan is the author of several books for young readers. He has been nominated for the White Pine Award, the Stellar Award and the Hackmatack Award, and two of his books were Junior Library Guild selections. Two of his young adult novels, Way to Go and Tag Along, were chosen for the ALA Rainbow List, in 2013 and 2014. He was a 2017 Lambda Literary Fellow in Young Adult Fiction.
